Where is Volcano Ranch ?

Volcano Ranch is located in west central Nicaragua, in the town of Diria. The ranch sits on the crater rim of Laguna de Apoyo, the largest volcanic crater lake in Central America. The ranch is 45 minutes from the international airport in Managua, 20 minutes from the city of Granada and 10 minutes from the town of Masaya. Our directions page has more detail.

My friends want to ride horses, but I don’t. What else can I do when we visit ?

Take a nap in a hammock, enjoy spectacular views towards adjacent volcanoes, swim in the pool, soak in the heated spa, read on the enclosed balcony, go for a hike thru tropical forest, take a walk into nearby villages.

 

Do you have riding helmets available ?

Yes, a professional wrangler accompanies all horse tour rides.

Can we ride horses down to the lake in the volcanic crater ?

Yes, a four hour ride on stone paved trail down and back up with an included lunch and hour for swimming is offered daily.
